They cross India, marveling at the human-made pollution, in a kind of reverse safari, repeating the environmental lessons so common in children's animation in a unique, spirited way.
The tiger cub is very appealing, a kind of re-appropriation of sir khan as an animal hunted by humans the bear, like Baloo, is a lovable joker the monkey, like king Louis, is a maniacal punk, but he redeems himself by saving the life of the parrot, the animals' only hope to save the forest from development, because he can talk to humans. But its magic lies in the untraditional animal characters, which delighted my children. The animation and singing are also not great. As several other viewers have noted, there are some scenes that don't belong in a children's movie, which just pop up out of nowhere. We hadn't seen any Indian animated movies so I took a chance on it, and it's, well.interesting. Please go and watch with your lovely kids. Overall, it has all ingredients of a good film, drama, emotion and entertainment. You would feel that you are simply watching a typical Bollywood movie. Music score by Shankar Ehsan Loy is very good. 3D impact is not up to mark but when subject and narration touch your emotions, you don't bother about other things. They have even touched a very sensitive issue of Tiger saving in a scene, which was heart touching. Nikhil Advani, Girish Dhamija, Suresh Nair and Milap Zaveri. Rest Akshay Khanna, Boman Irani, Urmila Matondkar and Saurav Shukla are also fine but Govinda is outstanding.
Most of the voice dubbing is done by known bollywood actors but Govinda's voice is superb. Especially the bee animation is mind blowing. Camera angle used in story telling keeps the pace of film on very good note. Making an animation and meaningful film is complete risk in Bollywood but he took the challenge and proved himself right. Nikhil Advani, who choose a tough path of making a meaningful film rather than following the common path of making a commercial cinema.
